Are you from Maine originally? If not, where are you from?

No, I’m originally from Maryland and moved to Maine 5 years ago. I’m from the Montgomery County/ DC area and met my wife at Howard University and decided to move to Maine after college.

How did you become a musician? What inspired you?

I became a musician unwittingly, my dad bought me a drum set when I was two and I’ve been picking up different instruments as I’ve grown and gone through life. I am inspired by the process of building a story, both lyrically and sonically. There is no “done” and so I can push conventions as far or as little as I like.

Tell me more about For Everybody and the messaging behind it.

For Everybody is a fun song that I did with a friend of mine during a two-day brainstorming studio session. I typically write politically motivated and socially conscious music. It was nice to just throw words together and focus on the feeling rather than the message.

Do you plan to launch new music?

Not sure yet - Being an independent musician in 2020 is difficult and timing and tone matter now more than ever. I’m writing constantly and recording so I have quite a bit of material to release when the time is right.
